He has been a New York City Landmarks Preservation Commissioner, an instructor at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and a visiting professor at MIT. His writing has been featured in The New York Times, New York Newsday, The Toronto Globe & Mail, and many other periodicals. He lives in New York.
