Brian Diaz
Brian Diaz was born and raised in Hialeah to parents who emigrated from Cuba, and he grew up with a deep-seated appreciation, curiosity, and respect for the natural world that would follow him through his life. Brian’s mission is to take the lessons of conservation wherever he goes, inspiring others to take up their responsibility as environmental stewards. From 2017 to 2021, he worked as the coordinator for the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science program Museum Volunteers for the Environment (MUVE), where he helped lead volunteer-based initiatives to restore natural habitats at Virginia Key. Brian is now an interpretive naturalist with Miami-Dade County. Particularly passionate about plants and their foundational role in healthy ecosystems, he also serves on the board for TREEmendous Miami and is the current president of the Dade Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society.
